summer renew us...day 36 #100daysfieldjournal
Today is the first day of summer vacation. I am sitting in a lawn chair in a park.
The air is little more than perfect and I hear the song of
birds and the steady hum of a lawnmower occasionally interrupted by a rooster’s
crow.
There are the sounds of balls bouncing now and the voices of
my 30 toes. Sometimes a car passes on
the nearby road, but it is not too close.
There are voices and sounds from other children, they are
older than mine, nearly too old for a playground and yet they are playing, how
wonderful.
I got up and played, how wonderful.
Today is the first day of my first summer vacation as a
parent; kindergarten passed in the blink of an eye, and yet its season had long
moments.
Summer renew us.
With gratitude,
Joanna
